Me and Internet

The invention of internet has changed human life drastically. Now, everything is just a pocket away. When you want to buy something, booked a flight, watch movies, see your friend's face from thousand miles away, read a book, stalk your crush, etc. Almost everything is in your mobile phone. However, the internet is like a double-edged sword, everything has its own consequences. Its original intention is to help us get connected, and now it has expanded into so many functions in our lives and it seems that we get too attached to it.

There is a saying "too much of everything is not good", like too much of breathing or too much of eating (I am not addressing you Rat). So, too much of internet will definitely has a bad effect on us too. Let me list out the example I could think of.

1. Shaped our mindset of what we should have in life.
We often stalk celebrities on Instagram and admired so much of their luxurious lifestyle, like their fashion, hang out place, or their activity. But, if you get too much of it, it will slowly shape your thinking of what the happiness is and want the same things like them. So it will cause you become less grateful of what you have now.

2. Addiction
Just like drugs, Internet could cause addiction to most people, including me. When you don't have internet for a week, you would get lost. You don't know what to do and what to see, and start questioning your existence. Honestly I spent almost half of my day surfing the Internet, and I should have start cutting the time I spent on Internet and do something else.

3. Reduced brainpower
There are so much information we could retrieve on Internet that sometimes when we have anything in mind, we don't have to do the thinking. Like my friend said 'just google it'. In long run, our mind capacity will reduced, the memory will be shorten, and soon our brain will be replaced by Google. This is one of the reasons we started this blog, so we could make use of our brain and feel alive.

4. Chances of divorce increases
It has become a trend in my Facebook news feed where people post and share pictures of cheating wife/husband. When Internet connects people in a single click, the chance of cheating is also becoming much higher. (Ask Liea about this because she has gone through it)

5. Lost connection with the closed friends and family.
Internet is indeed could connect people instantly in a thousand miles away. But quite often we get too focus to something a thousand miles away and ignore someone that sit next to us. So, don't be surprise if you see a group of people at dinner gathering where everyone is busy with their phone.

So, in conclusion, I should really cut my times surfing the internet unless it is really benefit me. Pray for me guys, so I could get rid of this addiction.
